Sora Rice Cooker Donabe

A simple and beautiful pot for both cooking and serving, in a unique icy blue glaze, the Sora donabe was designed to make perfectly fluffy steamed rice, as well as soups and stews. Sized for up to 3 go of rice, perfect for 2-4 people. Pictured with our small rush trivet and Mijayima rice spatula, sold separately.

Tojiki Tonya is a collective of ceramic makers based in the Tokai region of Japan, a center of pottery production since ancient times. Donabe are made in Iga, an area renowned for its special clay that creates highly flame-resistant cookware.

Donabe are safe for heat, including oven and gas flame. Not recommended for use on an electric stove unless using a heat diffuser. As with all natural materials, never shock the dish by moving it quickly from cold to hot, or vice versa. Warm it slowly over low heat to start, and never submerge a hot pot in water. Never heat the pot empty or when the bottom is wet, which can cause it to crack, and never soak or leave liquid in the pot for longer than it takes to cook and serve. Each pot should be seasoned according to included instructions before use.
